After a hundred days of intense and dedicated efforts, the well field expansion, water treatment plant, and pumping station renovation and expansion project in Tete and Moutemo regions, Mozambique (Tete Water Supply Phase II), undertaken by our company, has reached a significant milestone. On April 11, 2025, key components including the R-II pumping station and well field expansion passed water commissioning with flying colors, followed by a grand water-supply inauguration ceremony. This achievement paves the way for the full completion of the water treatment plant and the project’s final handover.
Fernando Rafael, Minister of Public Works, Housing, and Water Resources of Mozambique, attended the ceremony in person. He lauded our company’s construction quality and commended the efficient progress, expressing high hopes that the team would adhere to the schedule and complete the project ly, thereby bringing immediate benefits to the local community.
As our first large-scale integrated water supply project in Mozambique post-pandemic, Tete Water Supply Phase II encompasses well field expansion, water treatment plant construction, and pumping station upgrades. By implementing a meticulous single-project cost control and assessment system, we achieved a harmonious balance between quality and efficiency, setting a new standard for project management.
As a crucial livelihood project in Mozambique, the completed phase II will drastically boost daily water supply, ending the longstanding water scarcity in Tete and Moutemo. Each milestone of this project underscores our state-owned enterprise’s commitment to public welfare and our expertise in tackling complex engineering challenges.
